Roddick over Soderling

Action continued at Indian Wells yesterday, where the men finished their semifinals. Nadal was a surprising loser, falling at the hands of Ivan Ljubicic in a third-set tiebreaker. In the other match, Andy Roddick was victorious over Robin Soderling, advancing to the final later today. I don't think he's ever won this tournament before, so that would be quite an accomplishment for him, in spite of the fact that he didn't have to beat Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, del Potro, or Murray. Murray was another surprising loser, coming up short against Soderling in the quarterfinals. For someone with as much talent as he has, some of his results are surprising. But I guess the whole Indian Wells tournament has been surprising in terms of the number of upsets. Now we have a final between the 7 and 20 seeds.
